Welcome to Preschool!

For the 2020-2021 school year, the early learning program will be offering, for age-eligible four year-old children-who qualify for state preschool, enrollment in our TK/4 full day early learning classroom. This program provides a classroom experience that aligns with the elementary school day and calendar. The classroom ensures access to nurturing, educational, and developmentally appropriate high-quality early learning.

Eligibility for TK/4 enrollment is determined through multiple factors including, age (children must turn 4 years of age on or before December 1), income, family size, and exceptional needs. Families interested in the TK/4 program can complete the Early Learning TK/4 Interest List to begin the process. The submission of this form does not guarantee eligibility or enrollment within the program and/or site requested. *Please note, students turning 5, between September 2 and December 2, should enroll at and attend their school of residence as a TK student. Please note: Early Childhood Special Education Separate Setting (ECSE) and Part Day Blended Classrooms will enroll through Neighborhood Schools and Enrollment Options (NSEO).

The TK/4 early learning classroom provides age and developmentally appropriate conditions for our youngest learners. Using the California Preschool Learning Foundations and the TK standards, students’ progress through a developmental continuum building academic skills and social-emotional competencies for lifelong learning. Areas include: language and literacy, mathematics, physical development, writing, science, and visual arts.
